Balancing Energies
Welcome to March, Framily!
What an intense start to the year of the Fire Horse and we have the blood moon eclipse to start the month. March is named after Mars, the Roman god of War and Agriculture.
We’re choosing to focus on the agriculture here and sending out blissings and peace for the wellness to all beings. This is our way to honor people and planet in a meaningful way that provides delicious nutrition.
Eclipses are powerful times of magnifying what’s out of balance.
With the Moon in Virgo opposite the Sun in Pisces, we’re being stretched between:
*Order and Surrender
*Daily routines and spiritual flow
*Practical care and emotional replenishment
Use this eclipse to:
*gently declutter your space and schedule
*refine health practices and rituals
*make small, tangible changes that honor your well-being
*listen closely to intuitive whispers about “the next right step”
This isn’t about fixing everything overnight. It’s about honest seeing, soulful noticing, and then choosing one grounded, loving adjustment at a time.
Questions to sit with:
- What in my daily life is quietly draining me?
- Where does my body beg for more rhythm, rest, or nourishment?
- What would “sacred order” look like for me right now?
We are holding space for everyone moving through this Virgo eclipse: may your realizations be honest, your adjustments compassionate, and your next chapter more aligned with the life your spirit wants to live.
Spring is in the Air
We seem to have jumped from the depths of winter right into summer. The orchard trees needed to be pruned quickly as they were freezing one week and blossoming the next.
We are grateful to be here now and for the fire breaks as we make way for the new ponds. They are scheduled for the week of the new moon and equinox, so we will not have a formal open celebration, but invite you to visit as you feel called.
Equinoxes are again a call for balance and this one marks the astrological new year. Lucky us – so many opportunities to celebrate and begin anew!
What blissings of renewal can we hold with you?
Carrot Ginger Lemon Salad Dressing
We feel especially blissed when we eat food we grow here. Tomatoes, radishes, lemons, mixed greens are abundant now. Also enjoying the “weeds” like curly dock, henbit, dead nettle, ground ivy, and chickweed.
Ingredients
- ½ cup roughly chopped carrots (about 1-2 medium carrots)
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ⅓ cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp peeled and roughly chopped fresh ginger
- 1 ½ tsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- ½ tsp miso (optional, but recommended)
- Salt and water as needed
- In a blender, combine all of the ingredients.
- Blend for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the dressing is completely smooth.
- Taste and add a little salt or water, if necessary
- Serve over a salad of mixed greens, chopped cherry tomatoes, radish slices, and shredded carrots and enjoy!
Sanctuary Updates
We are planning a “Camp & Create” for the month on April. Beginning with the full moon celebration on the 1st, crowning with the new moon celebration weekend on the 17th, and ending with the full moon and Beltane on 1 May, this is your opportunity to really experience life at the sanctuary.
This free, come-when-you-can, stay-as-long-as-you-like gathering is a mix of retreat, regional burn, and experiment in what happens when we slow down and have space and time to connect deeply with the land and each other.
We will still have the plants and animals to care for and would like to begin both a bath house and outdoor kitchen for future gatherings that we welcome assistance in creating. We are also excited to see what creative things (arts, food, movement, music, self-expression) you may bring.
This world is an uncertain place, and we are grateful for every moment, especially those we get to share with you. Thank you for continuing to resonate your sunshine and please let us know how we can be better companions for you.
